Generally we take all recyclable items to Capitol Fiber located at 6610 Electronic, Springfield, Va.

Which jurisdiction laws and regulations does Trash AWAY follow?
Trash AWAY is a Virginia Corporation. We operate in many different jurisdictions within the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. We follow the rules and regulation of each of the jurisdictions in which we operate.

How should recyclables be prepared in a multi-family property and can we place them in black trash bags?
Residents are asked to prepare commingled material by rinsing plastic, glass and aluminum to remove all food residues and place them in recycling bins provided in designated areas by your property manager. All recyclables should then be placed in clear plastic bags for pickup so that they can clearly be differentiated from regular household trash by our crew.

Where can we purchase clear trash bags for recyclables?
Trash AWAY does not provide clients bags for recycling or trash. However, we have negotiated a lower rate with City Group (1-800-206-CITY) for our customers. You can call them directly to order bags.

Does Trash AWAY accept household hazardous waste?
No, we do not. We are not licensed to handle hazardous material. Residents of Arlington County can dispose of these items at one of the County’s disposal sites free of charge.

Does Trash AWAY accept construction debris?
Generally we will not accept large amounts of construction debris. However, we will accept small items for a fee. Please call our offices at 703.339.4560 to obtain a quote.
